The Best of Two Thousand Fifteen

  1. Best album of 2015: Sufjan Stevens, Carrie & Lowell
  2. Best film of 2015. I can’t really say, yet. You know how it is. All the best films of 2015 are released in early 2016. So, this is quite preliminary and subject to change, but here goes.
    1. Spotlight by Tom McCarthy
    2. Inside Out by Peter Docter and Ronnie del Carman
    3. Brooklyn by John Crowley
    4. Son of Saul by Laszlo Nemes
    5. The Assassin by Hsiao-Hsien Hou.
  3. My favourite film that I watched (but was not released) in 2015 was Searching for Sugar Man by Malik Bendjelloul. I’ll be writing an entire post about this film shortly.
  4. Most read posts on andrewjbergman.ca
  5. Two published short pieces of fiction.
  6. A piece on the Mennonite vote for Rhubarb Magazine.
  7. A piece of non-fiction in Geez Magazine.
  8. Favourite books I read this year: The Structure of Scientific Revolutions by Thomas S. Kuhn, The Handmaid’s Tale by Margaret Atwood.
  9. Something I wrote about Mennonite hipsters for Ballast Magazine.
